What it is & how it works
Radiesse is an injectable biostimulator made of calcium-based microspheres in a gel. It works in two ways:
- Instantly adds volume to areas that have lost fullness.
- Stimulates your body to make new collagen for long-term skin improvement.
It’s often used in the face, neck, décolletage, and hands to improve skin texture, firmness, and contour.
What to expect afterwards (timeline)
- Immediately: Some visible plumping and smoother skin.
- Day 1–3: Mild swelling or bruising possible.
- Weeks 4–12: Collagen stimulation improves skin firmness and texture.
When you’ll see improvement
Immediate improvement is seen after treatment, with the best results 2–3 months later. Results can last 12–18 months.
Aftercare instructions
- Avoid rubbing or massaging treated areas for 24 hours.
- No strenuous exercise, alcohol, or excessive sun/heat for 24 hours.
- Use cold packs to reduce swelling if needed.
- Avoid makeup for 12 hours unless advised otherwise.
Expected downtime
Usually minimal — possible swelling or bruising for a few days.
Possible side effects or complications
- Temporary redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness
- Lumps or unevenness (usually temporary)
- Infection (rare)
- Allergic reaction (very rare)
